Jamaica Tallawahs is one of the three teams in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) that has something to show in their trophy cabinet. The franchise won its first trophy in the inaugural season back in 2013 and then won it a second time in 2016, becoming the first team at that time to have multiple CPL titles. The Tallawahs holds a unique record to their name of playing 11 local (Jamaican) players in a match against Trinidad and Tobago Red Steel (now Trinbago Knight Riders) in 2013. The Jamaica Tallawahs team has continued with a similar approach in the subsequent seasons as well, which shows how good they are at promoting local talent. Thanks to the likes of Chadwick Walton, Andre Russell, Carlos Braithwaite, Oshane Thomas, and Sandip Lamichhane in the squad, the team has several match-winners in their ranks. In Andre Russell, the franchise has arguably the most feared all-rounder in the world, when it comes to T20, and that in itself is a huge strength for the team. In him, the team has a player who can single-handedly win a match. Furthermore, with experienced players like Chadwick Walton, Andre Fletcher, Rovman Powell, Fidel Edwards, and more in the squad, this team has the ability to come out on top during those crunch situations.
Weaknesses of JT
Due to the absence of Tabraiz Shamsi in this season, the team’s spin bowling department now hugely depends on the young shoulders of Sandip Lamichhane. Aged just 20, he would pretty much be leading the spin-bowling unit and the lack of a quality spin bowler to aid him can prove to be costly for the Tallawahs.

After finishing rock bottom in the last season, it is a good opportunity for the team to bounce back with flying colors this time around. With so many new signings in 2020, the team would be hoping to turn the fortunes in their favor. Furthermore, it is also an opportunity for them to become only the second team to win 3 CPL titles.
Threats for JT
